Riverboat Casinos in Indiana
In 1993 Indiana became the sixth state to legalize riverboat gambling. All Indiana riverboat casinos are open 24 hours a day (unless otherwise noted), and offer dockside gambling. The minimum gambling age in Indiana is 21.
All Indiana casinos offer such games as: blackjack, roulette, craps, Caribbean stud poker, slots, video poker, and video keno. Some casinos in Indiana offer games like: poker, three card poker, four card poker, baccarat, mini-baccarat, pai gow, pai gow poker, Spanish 21, Mississippi stud, big 6 wheel, and let it ride.
Pari-Mutuel Casinos in Indiana
There are two pari-mutuel casinos in Indiana, they are Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand. All Pari-Mutuel casinos in Indiana are open 24 hours a day, and the minimum gambling age is 21. The minimum age for pari-mutuel betting is 18.
In 2007 the Indiana state legislature approved the state to allow two Indiana horse tracks to have up to 2,000 slots and electronic gaming machines. On January 1, 2020 both casinos also began offering live table games.
There are no traditional casinos in the capital city of Indianapolis. The closest casinos to Indianapolis would be the racetrack casinos, both are within 50 miles. 30 miles south of Indianapolis is Indiana Grand Racing & Casino, and 45 miles northeast of Indianapolis is the Hoosier Park Racing & casino.
Native American Casinos in Indiana
There is currently only one Native American casino in Indiana. The Four Winds Casino South Bend opened in early 2008 and offers Class II electronic gaming machines. These gaming machines have the appearance of slot machines, but are actually games of bingo. The spinning reels on Class II gaming machine are for entertainment purposes only.
Indiana gaming regulations do not allow any casinos to provide free alcoholic beverages to guests.
NOTE: In Indiana, if you happen to win a jackpot consisting of $1,200 or more, the casino will have to withhold 3.4% of your winnings. This 3.4% will be taken by the Indiana Department of Revenue, you may be eligible to get some of it back but filing out a state income tax retune form. Keep in mind this $1,200 threshold is applied to any cash prizes that are won in tournaments or casino drawings.

Falls of Ohio State Park

Marengo Cave
This cave system is located beneath the town of Marengo and is a popular tourist destination for both locals and tourists. It was discovered by two young children that entered the grotto by candlelight in 1883. The cave is located on private land but a company was established for protecting and preserving this unique landmark in 1900. The caves were designated a National Historic Landmark in 1984. At the original entrance of the cave, there is a 160-step staircase to climb if you want to explore the cave. A new entrance was created in the early 1900s and you can easily explore the cave by a self-guided tour. You are going to find mind-blowing formations and interesting ecosystem in this cave, which maintains a year-round temperature of 52 degrees.
